If a clean, low-noise headshot compresses smaller than the portal's mandatory minimum floor (such as 20 KB), the tool invokes trailing-byte zero padding past the JPEG End of Image marker. This technique satisfies server-side file size inspectors while preserving 100% of the decoded image fidelity.
Why do portals reject a photo that is the right size?
