Aadhaar Card Crop & Print decrypts your password-protected e-Aadhaar PDF and turns the card section into a print-ready file for A4 paper or a PVC card printer. Processing runs entirely in your web browser with JavaScript PDF libraries, so your 12-digit Aadhaar number and personal details never leave your device.
Enter the name and birth year printed on the card and the tool derives the UIDAI password, decrypts the file and shows you the page with a Front box and a Back box over it. When the PDF draws the card faces as outlined rectangles or images, the boxes start on them; otherwise you drag them into place. Each box keeps card proportions, and whatever it frames is printed at exactly 85.60 × 53.98 mm with one scale factor for both directions, so the card is never stretched. The card faces stay vector, without re-encoding, so text, photo and QR code keep the quality of the original file.
How it works
1. Upload your official e-Aadhaar PDF
Drag your digitally signed e-Aadhaar PDF into the dropzone marked Open your e-Aadhaar PDF or select it from your device storage. The file must be an official PDF downloaded from the UIDAI portal.
2. Enter your name and year of birth
Type your full name and 4-digit birth year in the input fields exactly as registered with UIDAI. The built-in generator derives your decryption key from the first four letters of your name in capital letters followed by your birth year.
3. Open the PDF and check the card boxes
Click Open PDF. The tool decrypts the file in memory and shows the page with a Front box and a Back box. Make sure each box sits on the edge of its card side: drag a box to move it, drag its corner handle to resize it, or focus it and use the arrow keys and plus or minus. The previews underneath show exactly what will print.
4. Pick a layout and download
Choose A4 Paper (front above back on one 210 × 297 mm sheet, each card 85.60 × 53.98 mm, with corner cut marks) or PVC Card (one 85.60 × 53.98 mm landscape page per side). Click Create print PDF, then Download.

How does the tool crop and size the card?
An e-Aadhaar downloaded from UIDAI is a full page: letter text, instructions and the card's front and back. UIDAI does not publish the exact position of the card on that page, and the file has changed over the years, so the tool does not assume fixed coordinates. It reads the PDF's drawing instructions, looks for outlined rectangles and images with the proportions of an ID-1 card, and puts the Front and Back boxes on the two it finds. If it finds fewer than two, it says so and you place the boxes yourself.
Only the area inside each box is printed. That area is cut out of the decrypted page and placed on the output at 85.60 × 53.98 mm (242.65 × 153.01 points), scaled by the same factor horizontally and vertically, and turned upright if the page was stored rotated. Our automated tests check those output sizes and the uniform scale on every build. The card faces are embedded as vector content without re-encoding. The rest of the page is hidden outside the cut, not deleted from the file, so treat the print PDF as carefully as the original.

UIDAI password derivation rules and edge cases
Every official e-Aadhaar downloaded from the UIDAI portal is protected with a password derived from demographic details. Under UIDAI's rule (checked 2026-10-29), this password consists of the first four letters of your name in CAPITAL letters followed immediately by your 4-digit birth year (for example, Suresh Kumar born in 1988 produces the 8-character password SURE1988, while Om born in 1992 produces the 6-character password OM1992).
If a registered name has fewer than four letters, the parser uses all available letters without artificial padding. If the derived password fails to decrypt the file, the tool displays an alert pointing to a typo in the entered name or birth year, or variations in how initials or spaces were recorded in UIDAI records. How do you print an Aadhaar card in original size without shrinking?
The print PDF already holds each card at 85.60 × 53.98 mm. In the PVC Card layout every page is exactly one card, landscape; in the A4 Paper layout the front sits above the back, centred, with the same card size. What can still shrink the card is the print dialog.
In Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on macOS) to open the print dialog. Select your printer under Destination. Click More settings to reveal scale options. Under Scale, choose Custom and type 100%, or select Default. Make sure Fit to printable area and Fit to page are unchecked. If these options stay enabled, the browser shrinks the PDF by 5% to 10% to fit non-printing page margins.
After printing a test sheet, measure with a ruler: each card should be 85.6 mm wide. The A4 layout has short cut marks at every card corner, set 2 mm outside the card edge so no line shows after trimming. Cut along the lines they point to with a rotary trimmer or a ruler and craft knife. The result is only as accurate as the boxes you framed, so check that each box sits on the card's edge before you create the PDF.

Privacy protection and client-side execution

What is the exact physical size of the PVC card output?
Each PVC output page is one ID-1 card in landscape: 85.60 mm wide by 53.98 mm tall (242.65 × 153.01 points). The area inside your box fills it exactly, scaled the same amount in both directions.
How can I prevent my printer from shrinking the card dimensions?
In your computer print dialog, select 100% scale or Actual Size. Turn off options labeled Fit to page, Shrink oversized pages, or Scale to fit, which reduce page dimensions further.
Does the output file include cut marks?
The A4 Paper layout does: short marks at each card corner, 2 mm outside the card edge, so no line is left on the card after trimming. The PVC Card layout has none, because each page is already exactly card-sized. There are no fold lines.
Can I print both Aadhaar and PAN cards on the same PVC card tray?
Yes. Both tools produce the same PVC Card output: one 85.60 × 53.98 mm landscape page per card side, so one printer setup works for both.
