PAN Card Crop & Print decrypts your e-PAN PDF and turns the card into a print-ready file for A4 paper or a PVC card printer. All decryption and layout run locally on your device, so your 10-digit Permanent Account Number and other details stay private.
e-PAN files differ by issuer and we have not tested every layout, so the tool does not assume where the card is. After you enter the file's password, it shows the page with a Front box and a Back box. If the PDF draws the card faces as outlined rectangles or images, the boxes start on them; otherwise you drag them into place, and you can switch the back off if your file has only one side. Whatever each box frames is printed at exactly 85.60 × 53.98 mm with one scale factor for both directions, without lossy recompression.
How it works
1. Upload your electronic e-PAN PDF
Drag your digitally signed e-PAN PDF into the dropzone marked Open your e-PAN PDF or select it from your file manager. The tool accepts official password-protected PDF documents from Indian tax authorities.
2. Provide your decryption password
Type the PDF password into the field labelled PDF password. Use the password printed in the download email or SMS from the issuing agency (Protean or UTIITSL).
3. Open the PDF and frame the card
Click Open PDF. Check that the Front box (and the Back box, if your e-PAN has a back) sits on the edge of the card: drag to move, drag the corner handle to resize, or focus a box and use the arrow keys and plus or minus. The previews underneath show exactly what will print.
4. Pick a layout and download
Choose A4 Paper (cards stacked on one 210 × 297 mm sheet at 85.60 × 53.98 mm each, with corner cut marks) or PVC Card (one 85.60 × 53.98 mm landscape page per side). Click Create print PDF, then Download.

How does the tool crop and size the card?
Electronic e-PAN documents issued through Protean or UTIITSL carry the card on a page alongside other content. Cutting the card out in an image editor pixelates it and blurs the QR code.
This tool keeps the PDF's vector content instead. The print shows just what you framed: each framed area is clipped out of the decrypted page and set at 85.60 × 53.98 mm (242.65 × 153.01 points), with width and height scaled by one shared factor, so the PAN card is never stretched. Unit tests measure those page sizes and that shared factor in the generated file. Clipping hides the remainder of the page without removing it from the file, so keep the print PDF as private as the e-PAN itself.

e-PAN passwords: what official pages state
Digital e-PAN files are password-protected upon generation. Unlike e-Aadhaar, where the password follows a statutory formula derived from candidate names, e-PAN passwords depend on the issuing portal. Official Instant e-PAN guidance on incometax.gov.in and Protean portals generally use the applicant's Date of Birth in DDMMYYYY format without spaces or symbols (for example, 15081995 for 15 August 1995).
If your password fails to unlock the document, check the specific download email or SMS sent by NSDL/Protean or UTIITSL, as corporate or non-individual entities may use incorporation dates. TryDocsy verifies passwords client-side without logging or storing your credentials.
How do you print a PAN card in original size without shrinking?
Card size is fixed inside the file: PVC Card pages measure exactly one landscape card each, and the A4 Paper sheet centres the cards at that same 85.60 × 53.98 mm. Shrinkage at this point can only come from the printer settings.
Open the print setup in your browser using Ctrl+P (or Cmd+P on a Mac). Under the Destination dropdown, pick your target printer. Expand More settings to reach the scaling controls. In the Scale selector, pick Custom and type 100%, or keep Default selected. Uncheck any box marked Fit to printable area or Fit to page. When those scaling options remain checked, browser print renderers downsize the page to clear hardware margins.
Print one trial page and hold a ruler to it; the PAN card should span 85.6 mm. On the A4 sheet, small corner marks sit 2 mm clear of each card so the trimmed card carries no stray lines. Accuracy depends on your framing, so line each box up with the card border before creating the PDF.

How do I print a PAN card in original size?

What is the password for my e-PAN PDF?

Is my PAN card PDF uploaded to your servers?

Can I print this on a PVC card printer?
Yes. The PVC Card mode creates one landscape ID-1 page per card side, 85.60 × 53.98 mm (242.65 × 153.01 pt), filled edge to edge by the area you framed.
Why did my printed card come out smaller than a real PAN card?
Usually the print dialog: options such as Fit to page shrink the whole sheet to clear printer margins. Keep scaling at 100% (Actual size). Also check that the box you framed sits on the card's edge; a box drawn larger than the card prints the card smaller inside it.
Does the output file include cut marks?
The A4 Paper layout does: short marks at each card corner, 2 mm outside the card edge. The PVC Card layout has none, because each page is already exactly card-sized.
Does this tool work with both Protean (NSDL) and UTIITSL e-PAN cards?
It works with any e-PAN PDF you can open with its password, because you frame the card yourself. We have not tested every issuer's layout, so the boxes may not start on the card automatically; drag them into place before you print.
Can I combine an e-Aadhaar and an e-PAN for printing on the same sheet?
Not on one sheet: each tool makes its own A4 sheet. Both use the same 85.60 × 53.98 mm card size and cut marks, so you can print the two sheets back to back on the same paper stock and laminate the cards together.
