This tool stamps a line of translucent gray text across a photo, tilted at a fixed diagonal angle, either once in the center or tiled repeatedly to cover the whole image. You control the text itself, its opacity (5% to 80%) and its font size (12px to 120px); everything else about how it's drawn — the gray color, the diagonal tilt, the bold sans-serif style — is fixed and can't be changed from the UI. The preview canvas redraws live as you adjust any of those settings, and in tiled mode the spacing between repeats is worked out automatically from the text's own measured width and the chosen font size, so a longer phrase or a bigger size naturally spreads the pattern out further.
There's no option to watermark with your own logo or image — text only. The Apply Watermark & Download button also stays disabled until you've typed something into the text field. As with this site's other single-image canvas editors, the format you get back depends on what you uploaded: only a PNG keeps its transparency after the watermark is applied; every other format is exported as a flattened JPEG.
How it works
1. Drop or browse a photo
One image at a time, up to 20 MB — larger files are rejected right at this step.
2. Type your watermark text
Defaults to "CONFIDENTIAL". The Apply Watermark & Download button stays disabled while this field is empty.
3. Adjust opacity, font size, and tiling
Opacity runs 5-80%, font size 12-120px, and a Tiled switch (on by default) toggles between a repeating diagonal pattern and a single centered mark.
4. Apply Watermark & Download
First press renders the watermark at full resolution and swaps the button to a second Download Watermarked Image button — press that to save the file. Start Over resets the text, opacity, size, and tiling back to their defaults.

Marking a draft before it circulates
Stamp "DRAFT" or a similar label across a document photo or mockup before sending it around for internal review, so it's obvious the version isn't final.
Discouraging reuse of a product photo
A tiled watermark spread across the whole frame is harder to crop out cleanly than a single logo in one corner, which matters when posting photos on a marketplace or listing site.
Branding a screenshot before sharing it publicly
Add a site name, handle, or short credit line across a screenshot before it gets posted somewhere you don't control.
Labeling a scanned document copy with its purpose
Stamp something like "FOR VERIFICATION ONLY" across a scanned ID or document photo before uploading it somewhere, to make it clear the copy isn't meant for other use.
What actually gets drawn
Every watermark uses the same look: bold text in a fixed gray tone, rotated -30 degrees around the image's center. Text, opacity, and font size are the only three things you can change — there's no color picker, no angle control, and no way to swap the font.
In tiled mode, the gap between each repeat of the text is calculated from the text's own measured pixel width plus the current font size, both horizontally and vertically, so the pattern automatically gets denser or sparser as you change the text or the size rather than using a fixed grid.
Tiled versus a single centered mark
Tiled repeats the watermark diagonally across the entire canvas, from corner to corner, which is the harder pattern to remove or crop around. Centered draws exactly one instance in the middle of the photo and leaves the rest of the image untouched — better when you want a single, unmistakable mark rather than full coverage.
Output format and transparency
Only a PNG upload comes back as a PNG with its transparency intact once the watermark is stamped on. Every other source format — JPG, WEBP, GIF — is first painted onto a solid white background underneath the watermark and then written out as a JPEG at 95% quality, so any see-through areas in those formats turn white in the download.
Frequently asked questions
Can I upload my own logo as a watermark instead of typing text?
No. This tool only draws text watermarks — there's no option to upload an image or logo to stamp on instead.
Can I change the watermark's color or the angle it's tilted at?
No. The color is a fixed translucent gray and the tilt is a fixed -30 degrees. Only the text, opacity, and font size are adjustable.
Why is the Apply Watermark & Download button greyed out?
It stays disabled while the watermark text field is empty. Type something into it and the button becomes active.
What's the actual difference between the tiled and centered options?
Tiled repeats the text diagonally across the whole photo, with spacing based on the text's width and font size. Centered places exactly one instance in the middle and leaves the rest untouched.
Will my image's transparency survive after watermarking?
Only if it was a PNG to begin with. Any other format is filled with white behind the watermark and exported as a JPEG, so transparent areas won't carry through.
