Frequently asked questions
How do I convert PDF to Word for free?
Open the PDF to Word converter, select your PDF, and download the .docx. It runs in your browser, so there is no upload, no account, and no watermark. You can choose flowing text, which is easiest to edit, or keep the original layout if the page positions matter more than editing.
How do I convert HEIC to JPG on Windows?
Use the HEIC to JPG converter. Select the HEIC file your iPhone produced and download a JPG — it never leaves your browser, so it works the same on Windows, Mac, Android or iOS without installing Apple's codec pack.
Can I convert GIF to MP4 online for free?
Yes. The GIF to MP4 converter turns an animated GIF into MP4 or WebM in your browser. Because video stores what changed between frames rather than every frame whole, the MP4 is usually 80–95% smaller than the GIF it came from.
Is file conversion safe? Are my files uploaded?
Nothing is uploaded. Every conversion runs locally using WebAssembly and browser APIs, so your files never reach a server — which also means there is no server copy to be retained, logged or leaked. This holds for the multi-step routes too.
What if no single tool converts my pair of formats?
The picker at the top of this page will find the shortest route through the tools we do have. PDF to CSV, for example, is PDF to Excel followed by Excel to CSV. If there is genuinely no route, it says so rather than sending you to a page that will not help.
Which image format should I convert to?
JPG for photographs where size matters and you do not need transparency. PNG when you need transparency or crisp text and edges. WebP when you want both at roughly 30% less than JPG, and AVIF when you want the smallest file and your audience is on current browsers. The image format demo on this page shows the trade-off live.
Do the demos on this page use my files?
No. Most operate on a drawing that ships with the page. The CSV, Markdown and Excel demos do run the real conversion, but only on the sample text in the box — which you are welcome to edit, since it stays in your browser either way.
