The client-side parser checks your file and input fields before initiating decryption. Below are the specific error conditions handled by AadhaarUnlockClient.tsx:
Triggered when the selected file is not a valid PDF or has missing header bytes. Ensure you select the original digital download rather than a scanned phone photo or JPEG screenshot.
Occurs if you click Unlock before typing your details or if the birth year contains non-numeric characters. The birth year must be a four-digit integer between 1900 and the current year.
If the client reports that all candidates were rejected, verify whether the name on your Aadhaar card includes a family name, initials, or an honorific. If you selected a custom password when requesting the e-Aadhaar download, select 'I'll type the password' to provide it directly.
Important Notice Regarding UIDAI Digital Signatures
When TryDocsy decrypts an e-Aadhaar file, it writes the document content to a fresh, unencrypted PDF stream. Because digital certificates rely on an immutable byte-for-byte cryptographic hash of the original container, removing the password alters the file trailer and causes UIDAI's digital signature to become unverified. If the file picker displays 'Could not read this file. Please pick the e-Aadhaar PDF you downloaded from the UIDAI website.', the file is either not a valid PDF or has corrupted header bytes. If candidate passwords fail, the PDF was either saved with a custom password when downloaded from the portal or the name spelling does not match the printed card. You can switch to the 'I'll type the password' tab to enter a custom password.
Is my Aadhaar PDF uploaded to TryDocsy servers?
