Adjust Image gives you direct slider control over primary color channels and exposure settings without requiring heavy desktop photo software. You can brighten underexposed scenes, deepen muted contrast, push color saturation up to 300%, and rotate the color spectrum 360 degrees to fix tinted color casts.
All adjustments are evaluated as a single hardware-accelerated canvas filter sequence directly on your device. Your pictures are never uploaded to remote servers or stored in cloud databases, providing total privacy for personal photos, medical scans, and proprietary design assets.
How it works
1. Select an image file
Drop or browse any JPEG, PNG, or WebP photo up to 20 MB. The file loads directly into browser memory for real-time manipulation.
2. Adjust tone and color sliders
Move Brightness (0% to 200%), Contrast (0% to 200%), Saturation (0% to 300%), and Hue Rotate (0 to 360 degrees) to achieve your desired look.
3. Preview adjustments live
Observe instant updates in the preview viewport as you drag sliders. Click Reset All if you want to restore all values back to defaults.
4. Apply changes and download
Click Apply & Download to render the full filter pipeline onto your original image resolution and save the updated file.

Counteract yellow tungsten or green fluorescent light tints on indoor photos by rotating Hue Rotate a few degrees toward cooler tones.

Boost Saturation above 120% and increase Contrast to make overcast nature scenes, gardens, and sunsets appear rich and vibrant.
Increasing legibility on faded document scans
Raise Contrast and Brightness together to turn grey document backgrounds white while making faint handwritten ink dark and readable.
Stylized color shifting for creative graphics
Rotate the color spectrum 180 degrees to invert color relationships for album artwork, poster graphics, or surreal social headers.
How do color adjustments combine on canvas?
TryDocsy compiles your slider settings into a single canvas filter string: brightness(B%) contrast(C%) saturate(S%) hue-rotate(Hdeg). The browser's graphics engine executes these transformations in a single composite pass on the GPU or CPU canvas context. Because they are combined into one filter evaluation, the order in which you move the sliders does not alter the mathematical outcome.
Understanding differences vs Enhance Image: Adjust Image focuses on tonal and chromatic manipulation, giving you Hue Rotate (0 to 360 degrees) and extended Saturation up to 300%. In contrast, Enhance Image provides an unsharp-mask filter for edge sharpening and a one-click Auto Enhance preset. If your image needs edge crispness rather than hue shifting, choose Enhance Image.
If you want to strip all color completely for black-and-white printing, open Grayscale Image. If your adjusted photo is too large for web publishing or email attachments, optimize its file weight with our image compressor.

Transparency behavior and when not to use this tool
Export format depends on your source file type. If your input file is a PNG, the tool exports a PNG with transparency preserved. If your input is a JPEG, WebP, or other format, the canvas exports as a JPEG at 0.95 quality. A technical detail to keep in mind: unlike Enhance Image, the Adjust Image canvas does not draw an explicit white background before JPEG export. If you upload a transparent WebP or GIF, any transparent pixels will be filled with black by the browser's native JPEG encoder. To avoid black backgrounds on transparent graphics, convert them to PNG first or upload them as PNG files.
Every canvas re-encode strips embedded camera EXIF tags, GPS coordinates, and device identifiers. This protects your privacy when sharing adjusted pictures on public forums. If you want to remove metadata without changing pixel colors, use our EXIF remover.

Frequently asked questions
Can I adjust individual color channels separately?
No. The sliders modify global Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, and 360-degree Hue Rotate across the entire image. Channel-specific curves (Red, Green, Blue) are not currently available.
What does Hue Rotate do to photo colors?
Hue Rotate shifts all pixel hues around the 360-degree color wheel. Small changes (5 to 20 degrees) correct minor color casts, while larger rotations (180 degrees) create dramatic inverted or psychedelic color palettes.
Can I sharpen blurry photos using Adjust Image?
No. There is no sharpness filter in this tool. If you need to sharpen soft edges or apply an unsharp mask, use our Enhance Image tool instead.
Will my transparent PNG stay transparent after adjusting?
Yes. PNG uploads are re-encoded as PNG, preserving alpha transparency. However, transparent WebP or GIF uploads converted to JPEG will have transparent areas rendered black.
Does adjusting colors strip EXIF camera metadata?
Yes. Re-encoding the image through HTML5 canvas strips all embedded metadata, including camera models, timestamps, and GPS location tags.
What is the upload size limit for Adjust Image?
The tool supports image files up to 20 MB. Files are processed entirely on your local device without any server uploads.
